“There lives not three good men unhanged in England;
and one of them is fat, and grows old.”  – Henry IV

I finally got around to watching the famous – but hard to find – Orson Welles film Chimes at Midnight, that I first blogged about back in January.  And all I can say is:  1) I need watch it again, and  2) Welles truly makes an amazing Falstaff.

    From your reaction, I take it that the film is worth the effort necessary to get a copy.

      Well, let me be clearer. Welles’ rendition of Falstaff was truly engrossing, and for that reason alone it may be worth it to find and watch the movie. When I said I needed to rewatch it, however, that was because I couldn’t catch and follow all that was going on. I am not a big fan of old movies, as this is definitely an old movie. It was fun to recognize the different famous Shakespearean lines and piece together the different plays as the movie went on, but following the movie itself was a bit difficult for me. As I said, I need to rewatch it…
