“The laws are mine, not thine.
Who can arraign me for’t?”  – King Lear

I woke up this morning to find that the protest bug has hit Russia too.  Apparently thousands gathered Saturday morning in Moscow to protest apparently rigged elections in Putin’s favor.  I hope the rally is a success; Putin is a demagogue who seems to think that Russia is his personal playground. It’s time for him to go already.

Not much argument about Putin. I’ve a friend from high school who lives in Moscow these days (teaching English) who has never had anything good to say about Putin. Sadly, I think it would take a major coup or something even less pleasant to rid Russia of his stranglehold.

Yeah, unfortunately the rally was only in the “thousands,” not the hundreds of thousands that would be necessary to oust the guy. But I had to give a supportive shout out to the effort anyway.
