I’ve been seeing a lot of angst-ridden commentary as to whether this is one of the “worst” times right now. Worst conflict in the Middle East, worst political leadership ever, worst economy in decades. Things do seem bad, in some ways, but then I tend to think they always do, to every generation. It’s a little narcissistic of us to really thing now things are the worst. Relax – things really could be even worse.

Let the dog days of summer begin! (Note: I’ve always thought that the phrase “dog days of summer” sounded like something Shakespeare would have coined – but, alas, he did not.) I can’t believe it’s August already. Where has the time gone?!?
