I read this quote from a Ferguson, MO mother the other day and I was struck by how much it echoed Shakespeare in The Merchant of Venice: “If you prick us, do we not bleed? If you tickle us, do we not laugh? If you poison us, do we not die?” We are all human. We are all in this together. Amen.
