A recent study found that over 1 million people die prematurely in China due to air pollution.  I do remember the air being pretty bad when I was in Beijing in 2007; my throat hurt when I woke up in the mornings, and the snot in my nose came out black.  I think nature is telling us to do something about this already…

    Nature’s been telling us that for a long time. Too many people don’t want to listen. Personally, I think the rapid decline of the fertility rate among the middle and upper economic classes in the developed countries is part of the problem. It’s too easy to not worry about future generations when you’re either a) worried about just surviving today, tomorrow, this week, or b) not worried about the long-term future because you think you’re set for your lifetime and have no stake in the longer term.

      Good point. I agree. No solution to that as far as I can see though…
